Schneider Electric is considering the sale of a number of assets, including its industrial automation and controls unit, 

that could be worth about $1 billion, including an evaluation of the sale of the Telemecanique business.

Telemecanique's origins date back to 1924, producing products such as sensors, switches and signalling equipment for 

the industrial, infrastructure and building sectors, and it was acquired by Schneider in 1988.

In addition, Schneider is divesting a business that makes uninterruptible power supplies for harsh industrial environments 

such as oil, gas and nuclear power, and is also studying a potential sale of its Eurotherm unit, which provides products for 

temperature and power control, Products for measurement and data logging.

Eurotherm is a leading global supplier of temperature, power, process control, measurement and data management equipment, 

systems, software and services to the global industrial market. Headquartered in Worthing, UK, with its core production facility

 in Lenzi, Poland, the company employs approximately 650 people worldwide. Watlow, a designer and manufacturer of complete 

industrial thermal systems, is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Eurotherm from Schneider 

Electric. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
